Right now in Lemoore, CA it is up to $4.45 ( cheapest in town so far).
High Gas Prices!!!!!?

High Gas Prices!!!!!?
don%26#039;t drive
Reply:I%26#039;m thinking about getting a bike... but work is 17 miles each way... so I%26#039;m still thinking
Reply:$3.99 Columbus, OH

I don%26#039;t waste gas by backtracking. I will take multiple trips is one journey as well.
Reply:Detroit, MI - lowest in last few days was $4.02.

Fortunately, I%26#039;ve got a small car.
Reply:I have to drive my scooter which totally sucks. I miss my Explorer :(

Gas is about $4.00 per gallon here in Tennessee.
Reply:Alabama. $3.85

and yeah. it sucks. lets just say i%26#039;ve had more than my usual number of strawberry margaritas to handle it..

Gas prices are perfectly normal.

Do some research, so you%26#039;re not like the thousands of other misguided fools whining about gas :)
Reply:It%26#039;s nothing new, it%26#039;s called price fixing. Oil companies do it, in order to stop it, the government has to investigate it and proove it%26#039;s being done. There are alot of rumors as to why this is going on and it%26#039;s simple as that. There is not shortage, or Bush having an impact, it%26#039;s really just basic economics of supply and demand.
Reply:MARYLAND $3.89 AND CLIMBING DAILY
Reply:In Washington state right now, gas is around $4.20.
Reply:$5.33 per gallon (3.78 litres) in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

And our dollar is at par with the green back
Reply:I live in Ireland where its average 1.45euro per litre. Ithink that gives me the right to moan and groan!!

Anyone who knows about greyhound buses please click?

I want to take a bus from Clearwater, FL to Scranton, PA. The site said the ticket would cost $164.00. I%26#039;d have to take about 13 buses to get to Scranton.

Questions

-Do I have to pair another fair when I get on each bus?

-When each bus stops, where does it stop at? (bus stop? bus station?)

- I%26#039;m 15, could I travel alone?

-Do the buses travel all night?

-Does it cost money to store your luggage on the bus?

-Is it hard to transfer buses? (I%26#039;m afraid I%26#039;ll get lost)

Many years ago I traveled from Arizona to Boston. They would kick us off at night for a while until they cleaned the bus!!! I did not have any problem getting on the right bus. They made it really clear. In any event, keep an eye on your fellow passengers. Some are likely to be going where you are going or even beyond. You can either watch them or ask anybody who seems normal. Ask the bus driver or other Greyhound rep if you are at all unsure. It is their job to answer questions like yours.

DO NOT RIDE GREYHOUND they are not safe anymore

they have had several accidents their drivers get lost

there was a bus that left Los Angeles going to San Francisco

they ended up in Buffalo New york!

their restroom overflowed with human waste (the driver doesnt

do anything about it

then if you are Lucky to get on a greyhound mostly likely you would have to stand for 1 to 2 hours since the bus is full

sometimes customer services tells you lies on yes we have

another bus on the way sure 24 hours later!

in rare cases they might find another bus it might not

be greyhound! but another company!

I had a friend who was traveling from Portland Oregon

to Seattle the regular bus came though no room

Greyhound dispatcher told the passenger waiting

there will be another bus shortly guess what time it should

up 1:30am and then the driver didn%26#039;t speak English nor

did he know how to get to Seattle in the first place!

DO NOT TAKE GREYHOUND use Amtrak instead

Is it more fuel efficient to drive 60 in 5th gear at 1800rpms vs 60 in 4th gear at 2300rpms?

I have a 2008 Ford Mustang GT manual. I want to know if driving the same speed in 5th gear with lower rpms will save me gas vs driving in 4th gear at higher rpms? Also, does driving in 4th and 5th gear constantly at lower rpms negatively affect my engine in any way?
Is it more fuel efficient to drive 60 in 5th gear at 1800rpms vs 60 in 4th gear at 2300rpms?
the higher the gears, the less gas you use!

the 5th gear is lighter and doesnt require as much work from the pistons, less gas
Is it more fuel efficient to drive 60 in 5th gear at 1800rpms vs 60 in 4th gear at 2300rpms?
higher RPM%26#039;s burns more fuel(significant) and causes more engine wear (negligible)
Reply:For the best gas mileage, always drive in the highest gear possible. If you can use your top (highest) gear at 60 (without losing speed or stalling), that%26#039;s better than any other. The only reason to use a lower gear is for acceleration or maintaining speed up a hill.
Reply:The lower RPMs the better. keep your rpms below 2000 for the best millage.

Would high gas price effect your volunteer work?

will you stop or cut down volunteer work because of high gas price?
Would high gas price effect your volunteer work?
Am I stupid or don%26#039;t I get it ? What on earth has high gas prices got to do with volunteer work ? I%26#039;m confused.
Would high gas price effect your volunteer work?
Everybody has a price. It costs me $400 a month just to go to work 20 miles away. I cannot imagine spending that plus my free time for volunteer work. I%26#039;ll do local (5mi. range or less).

Sorry, but my wallet isn%26#039;t as big as my heart.
Reply:I would say yes. I stopped volunteering at our library when my baby was born with the intentions of going back when he was older and could behave himself while I was there. :)

Unfortunately, it just doesn%26#039;t make sense to go anywhere that isn%26#039;t necessary at this point. There are people who live in town that are closer and hopefully someone who could bike or walk would like to do this.
Reply:I was thinking about doing some volunteer work at an animal shelter this summer, %26amp; have also played w/ musical groups that didn%26#039;t pay me (otherwise I get paid professionally as a musician). But current gas prices, unfortunately, just make it unwise for me to take on anything to where I don%26#039;t get paid :( I might consider public transit if it were convenient, but the summer heat doesn%26#039;t make that a smart idea either if there%26#039;s a lot of walking involved.

When you're following a bus in your car?

Do you get people pulling faces at you out of the back window?
When you%26#039;re following a bus in your car?
Sometimes lol. Depends on where I am
When you%26#039;re following a bus in your car?
loool yes!
Reply:Mostly kids. I often get younger kids wave at me!
Reply:If I do, it`s usually a school bus.
Reply:I was behind a bus full of teens tday when suddenly 5 white butts appeared in the back window.....class!
Reply:If they do, I just stick my middle finger up to them.
Reply:well i might get in there first!!!!!!
Reply:and I pull a few good ones back !
Reply:i%26#039;m usually the same height as the little people (kids) in buses as i drive a lorry. it%26#039;s only polite to pull a face back or smile and wave depending on the audience, it brightens up the day :)
Reply:According to the law, you should be 100 feet from the back of a school bus, so if you were doing everything right, how would you see faces looking a you?
Reply:Only when it%26#039;s a school bus.
Reply:yes its funny

I am scared of gas prices, should i be?

everyday it seems like it is rising i am not sure how long i can afford this. something needs to be done.,
I am scared of gas prices, should i be?
The only way too lower the price is to drill in this country and build more refineries. But today congress wanted to increase taxes on oil companies which will increase the cost of gas more. Cut back on your expenses and hold on that%26#039;s all you can do. hope this helps.
I am scared of gas prices, should i be?
hell yeah put yourself on the waiting list of a hybrid cuz it%26#039;s gonna get worse before it gets better, if it ever does
Reply:Thats is exactly the same thing i say all the time...some one needs to do something....eveything is getting very expensive .....before i used to think twice now i have to think alot about how to control bugdet.. gas pricing is hurting alot of people i dont know how long this will go on till...all we can do just pray for things to get better
Reply:Yes you should be.

I believe that government is planning something like raising the tax/gas prices even more so we accept some new policy.

What I mean is that they want to scare us and pressure us so we buy hibryd cars or other new technological gadget.
Reply:Compress is right, In a letter I got from Congressman Miller he said if we open Alaska gas will drope $1.43 a gallon and if we open the gulf coast of FL it will drope another $243.00 a gallon.
Reply:Me too. I thought for sure it would%26#039;ve stabilized by now, but this is ridiculous. I%26#039;m already thinking of getting a smaller vehicle by the end of the summer or by Fall... for now isn%26#039;t so bad cuz i%26#039;m not driving as much as I normally do. I am just trying to drive less, but in the hot summer season, walking just isn%26#039;t an option. I do like the idea of companies changing their workdays to 4 days instead of 5 or 6. On the other hand, it will make things inconvenient on days where people have off to actually do things, so who knows what will happen.

Why do people keep driving over the speed limit when gas is expensive?

I%26#039;ve tried to save gas by keeping the speed under 60miles p/h

but the majority of locals keep driving over 70 miles p/h

on the 65 speed limit freeways. What really sucks is that these cars sort of push you to their speed.
Why do people keep driving over the speed limit when gas is expensive?
a) they are retarded,

or

b) they are rich retards
Why do people keep driving over the speed limit when gas is expensive?
Because they are Americans that%26#039;s why! And it%26#039;s our right by birth to burn all the gas we can pay for. It was not the majority that created this mess, it was the hand full of do gooder jerks that created it. Open Alaske drope $1.43 ca gallon, open the the FL gulf coast it drope anoth $2.20 a gallon. Want to see $10.00 a gallon elect Obama.
Reply:I%26#039;ve noticed this too %26amp; have also tried doing the same thing, such as using cruise control in town, but it%26#039;s not really safe, is it?! Most of the problem is force of habit, esp. in the South where everyone drives like important jerks. Hey, I grew up in this driving environment %26amp; have tended to drive like this most of my driving life. But then I lived up in the Midwest for a few years, %26amp; people just do NOT tend to drive nearly as aggressive or fast. It%26#039;s gonna be hard to change this behavior, but I%26#039;ve been waiting to see if maybe these gas prices will make people change their mind... so far I%26#039;m seeing little change. Aside from a smaller vehicle, I%26#039;m already thinking of getting one of those new gas gadgets that help you monitor your speed. They look like they kinda work similar to a radar detector.

Otherwise, I guess all we can do is just stay out of the speeders%26#039; way %26amp; just try to drive slower! I%26#039;ve also noticed they%26#039;re NOT just the expensive vehicle driving types, there are plenty of non-rich fast driving idiots out there, so that previous statement about them being rich is inaccurate.
Reply:Doing 70 instead of 65 won%26#039;t make a significant difference to fuel usage. Do 10 MPH if you want real figures. But won%26#039;t you be abused then! Drive at the same speed as the majority of traffic before there is an accident. You can%26#039;t be %26quot;pushed%26quot; to their speed, their option is to overtake you, make it easy, don%26#039;t travel too slow!

That%26#039;s when the problems really start, when vehicles change lanes to overtake, after they are forced to slow down by someone travelling slow. They then can obstruct the driver doing 70 already, a dangerous situation all round. Even for you, stubbornly sticking below a speed limit.

It%26#039;s called self- preservation. Make things equal, so far as possible.
